My experience with the cameo shot was easy because the halls outside of this classroom are a neutral shade, so it was not difficult to find a fitting background.
The choker shot was more difficult to film landscape because my hand wants to naturally place my hand in a vertical position when holding my phone. also, since it was a close up shot I was worried the top and bottom of Astrid's face would be cut out due to the narrowness of the frame.
The close shot was an easy film because from a distance, the waist up can be easily captured within the frame of the video. We decided to have a little fun with this hot, as well as some of the others!
The close up shot, not to be confused with the close shot, is easy to film and can be filmed anywhere, meaning i did not have to be selective with my background. I like the closeness of this video, it makes the hand the focal point.
The dolly shot was more difficult to film smoothly because I was walking through a hallway. I was aiming to display depth by going down the path, but i think it could have been a perfected shot if we had done it on a smoother surface, like a chair, although that may not display the best angle.
Very often in life I find myself capturing establishing shots, so this was easy to film. I am very familiar with this type of shot and I like how it can capture a landscape.
This extreme close up shot actually ended up being very nice in quality because the camera lens enables the viewer to see the detail within Astrid's eye. I used the zoom function of my camera to capture this shot.
The eye level shot was awkward to film because of the placement of my camera. Since the shot needed to depict a type of point of view perspective, i had to hold the camera very close to my eyes and I feel that it could have been captured more efficiently.
The follow shot was not as smooth as I would have liked it to be. Similar to the dolly shot, my walking made the filming uneven. If I could change this shot, I would have placed my camera on a chair to make it more smooth when following the subject.
The flash shot was honestly a funny one. I enjoyed making this shot because there was a "surprise" within the video. The unexpectedness of Astrid jumping into the frame clearly defined the uniqueness of this shot, which made it enjoyable to film.
The full shot was fun and simplistic in nature. To capture Astrid's full body, I asked her to stand on a bench. This made it easy for me to film her without having to back up a great distance, and she was still the focal point of the video clip.
The high angle shot was not a great experience to film because I do not think I got as high up as I could have. Some students stood on the second floor and filmed their subjects while they were on the first floor, which captured a better perspective for this shot. Although I was still above Astrid, to better imitate the high point of view i should have gone a greater distance above her.
I enjoyed the the chocker shot because it created an intense setting and made me curious as to what made Astrid react like that. I also enjoyed the dolly shot because it made it seem like I was walking down the hallway. The flash shot was also cool because it was quick but surprising when Astrid jumped into the shot. Lastly, the high angle shot captured all of Astrid's reactions and motions, making the shot more exciting.
ReplyDeleteI. I liked your dolly shot because the way you moved the camera slowly invoked feelings of suspense. I could totally see it in a horror movie where the main character's high school is haunted by some evil entity.
ReplyDeleteII. Your extreme close up shot was great - the way Astrid shut her eye softly and reopened it created a sense that she was in disbelief. It was as if she was saying 'Seriously?'
III. I think your high angle shot was in fact the perfect distance given the context of the shot. The way Astrid acted the shot contributed to the feeling of tension created by it.
IV. I could imagine the cameo shot in a movie where the protagonist is reflecting on childhood memories. It has an upbeat and happy feel to it and I really liked that about it.
